Pre Level Zoom classes will begin this Monday, June 8th. Summer Mini Intensives on June 29th.

Pre Level Zoom classes will begin this Monday, June 8th.

Mondays at 4:00 pm with Miss Emma.  Saturdays at 10:00 am with Miss Alyssa. (I’m waiting for the link from them as to logging in/joining the meeting, and will email to pre level parents.   Emma had a good point that we don’t want strangers logging into a class for little kids, so no link on the website or Facebook page.  Zoom has enough problems.) No charge for these Zoom classes.

Summer Mini Intensives.

We will offer 5 weeks of mini intensives at ADA this summer beginning June 29th, and continuing through July 31st.    These will be very small class sizes,  so enrollment is extremely limited.  If you are interested in one of these intensives, call the studio 803-736-8141, and leave a message.  Someone will get back to you, or you can email: info@academyofdancearts.org if you are interested in registering for a session.  We are trying to reduce contact, so registration in person at the studio is not available.

The classes are Monday – Friday.   There will be ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, pointe, pre-pointe, character, and possibly some other disciplines from guest teachers.  The schedule will vary day by day.

Basic/Intermediate   12:30-3:30    $225 per week.   Suggested ages 6 and up

Intermediate/Advanced  4:00-8:00  $300 per week.   Suggested ages 10 and up

In order to observe guidelines regarding Covid 19,  the following policies will be in place:

Dancers arrive in dance clothes, dressing room will be closed.  First session dancers arrive between 12:10 and 12:20.   Temperature taken with touchless thermometer before entering building.  Only dancers in the building.  NO parents.

Bring water bottle.  Fountain will not be available.  Bottles may be refilled in bathroom.  Dancers should wash hands thoroughly both before and after refilling water bottle.

Dancers may wear masks, but are not required to.    First session dancers MUST be picked up promptly at 3:30, so as not to overlap next session, and give staff time to sanitize.

Payment can be sent with dancers in form of check or cash.   Payment can also be made via PayPal @ brickerbrewer@earthlink.net.   No credit card payments this summer.    If a dancer has credit from prepaid tuition or recital fee, that can be used for the intensive.

Because we feel our tiny dancers would not be able to follow social distancing guidelines, or be in the studio without parents, we are offering FREE pre level Zoom classes on Saturdays and Mondays.  We miss our littles, but don’t feel it’s time for those classes to resume.  The Zoom link will be emailed to pre level families.

We have missed all of you, and are looking forward to dancing again.   We still don’t know when or if we can schedule a recital, but will keep you posted as we receive more information.
Studio Update

Studio Update

I hope everyone is well during this strange and trying time.    I wish I had more answers for everyone, but as much as we want to be dancing, the safety of our dance families and the ADA staff is my paramount concern.

At this point, I do NOT feel safe returning to regular classes or rehearsals.     One of our problems is obtaining adequate sanitizer and paper products.  We’re working on it.   There is a barrier between Brewer Decorating and the studio now.

I am hopeful that if we get to a better spot, we can resume classes, perhaps on a smaller scale, and perhaps a fall recital, but honestly, I really don’t know yet.

Many kids together, breathing hard, when people can be asymptomatic for days, shedding virus, and we have minimal testing in our state, could be a recipe for disaster.  I know everyone wants to dance.  We want to teach, but not at the expense of anyone’s health.

I will keep you updated.  We miss you.

Be safe!

Debra

Recital 2020 Update

Dear Students and Parents,

The teachers and staff are missing all of you! We’ve had a number of questions about recital. At this point, we do not have enough information to give you an answer, but rest assured Ms. Debra is thinking about it, even if it’s a summer or fall performance. Right now, we need to all do what is best for our country, and STAY HOME.

Once things have improved, we will start planning to get back to dance!!

We miss you! Stay safe!
